What does retail value mean?
Retail value refers to the current market price of the device if it was sold in "like new" condition. Since our devices have minor wear, we've decided to offer them at a huge discount!
We've determined "retail value" using the data provided by the mac identifier website everymac.com
How does the data transfer process work?
There are a few prerequisits before we can offer a data transfer. We will make sure you meet these requirements once we've received your old device. If they are not met we will provide you with a refund.
- The computer you are transfering from must have a working hard drive
- Your purchased device must have enough space to fit your data (if it does not we can offer you a larger drive, you pay the difference in cost as displayed on the product page)
- You must either mail in or drop off the computer you are transfering data from before you can receive your new device.
Can I trade in my old computer for a discount?
Yes you can! It doesn't matter if the computer is in working condition or not, we will give you a refund of up to $100 after the computer has been evaluated (this process takes 3-5 days). If you are unhappy with the refund amount offered, you're welcome to pick up the device. Your computer must be newer than 2010 for Macs or 2014 for PCs in order to qualify for a trade in. You have 30 days from the purchase date to send in a device for trade ins.
What if I want to upgrade my device after purchase?
You may purchase any upgrades within 30 days of purchase. You will be required to pay the difference in parts.
What is an SSD?
An SSD is short for Solid State Drive. These drives have become common in premium computers since around 2014. They have no moving parts as compared to traditional drives that function like a constantly spinning record player. Since it does not spin, it has twice the life span (5-10 years rather than 2-5 years like traditional drives) and 20x the speed! SSDs allow older computer models to function with the speed and performance you expect from this years models! Please note this will not improve graphics performance or internet speed.
What is an antiglare coating?
The antiglare coating helps prevent light from reflecting off of a Macbook Pro Retina Display in direct sunlight. After about a year of use, the coating starts to degrade and those portions begin to reflect light. The degredation is barely noticeable unless used in direct sunlight.
How do I extend my warranty or add accidental protection?
Any extended warranties can be purchased through squaretrade.com after your purchase. Just fill out the form on their website and send over your receipt!
What is the difference between "used" and "refurbished"?
Used devices have had previous owners but have never been modified in anyway, all parts are in working order and have never been replaced.
Refurbished devices have had previous owners and have also been modified. Some parts may have stopped working and have been replaced. Any replaced parts have been thoroughly tested by our trusted vendors and by Wise Guy.
How will I know when my order is ready?
Once your order is ready we will contact you via email. If your device has not been customized, the order will be shipped or ready for pickup within a 1-2 days. If you've customized your device it may take a 2-4 days from the order date to complete your order.
What is your return policy?
Any purchases may be returned within 30 days as long as they are received in the same condition they were purchased.
